What support is Coed Lleol (Small Woods Wales) offering to people during Covid-19?

During this period of physical distancing, we are helping people across Wales improve their wellbeing by connecting to nature in these ways:

• Our Online Nature Sessions are happening live every weekday on Zoom. Each session has a different theme, from Foraging to Mindfulness.
• We’ve launched a new YouTube channel to share weekly nature videos made by our expert Woodland Leaders and Mentors.
• We’ve been making Activity Guides in English and Welsh to support you in doing our YouTube video activities
• On our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages we’re sharing #NatureFix posts – photos of trees and plants from around our office in Machynlleth 
• Our local project groups across Wales have moved outdoor nature sessions online. Contact a Woodland Mentor in your area to join us.
• We’ve been supporting a volunteer group in Mid Wales called Heart Mind Body to get the word out about their free online wellbeing activities

What do Woodland Managers in Wales need to know during Covid-19?

The 5-mile recreational travel limit in Wales was lifted on 6th July. If you need to travel to do work that is needed in your woodland, then there are no restrictions on your visit. If, however, you feel there is a danger that you may be challenged while going about your necessary tasks and duties in your woodland, the Small Woodland Supply Chain Letter of Comfort may be helpful to explain the need for the work you are doing.
